A new record has been set for the largest chicken nugget in the world.
Two culinary sensations teamed up with Guinness World Records – former MasterChef finalist Nick DiGiovanni and Cooking with Lynja’s Lynn Davis – to demonstrate how to make a record-breaking 46 pounds, 3.34 ounces of “nugget.”.”
Made from 40 pounds of ground chicken “close to 60 whole chickens” – along with 40 eggs, about 40 slices of white bread, 2 litres of whole milk, one cup of salt, and half a cup of black pepper.
Cooking such a large nugget proved to be the most challenging part of this project. According to DiGiovanni, tests in a home oven took 12 hours. The chefs dragged the massive nugget to a commercial kitchen so that it could be cooked more quickly. A judge then certified that the nugget was the world’s largest based on its weight and diameter.
Guinness World Records said, “the nugget was cut up and distributed to friends, family, and the film crew for consumption.” There is no mention of dipping sauce (or how large the tins were).
This isn’t the first time DiGiovanni and Davis have teamed up to set a world record: In January, Guinness World Records posted a video of them setting the record for “World’s Largest Cake Pop.”
