For the second time, a preliminary hearing has been set for Richard Budd, the man accused of killing Alex Whitehead.
Budd’s hearing is scheduled for January 17, 2025 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
The purpose of a preliminary hearing is to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.
The charge of manslaughter came after Whitehead was killed at a New Year’s Eve Party in Prince Albert in 2022.
The charge was stayed in March 2023 but Prince Albert Police investigators found new evidence which led them to re-lay the charges.
