The results are in, and the Best of the Best have been named for the City of Prince Albert.
The 2023 BOB Award winners were officially announced on Friday with dozens of categories, hundreds of nominations, and thousands of votes to count.
This year there were 244 categories, over 25,000 nominations, 70,114 votes, and 2,212 participants from Prince Albert and Area. That is a significant growth from last year when under 18,000 nominations were sent in for over 200 categories.
“Amidst getting back to a semi-normal time during Covid, these awards truly give some recipients something to celebrate after having gone through a few years like no other,” said Marlene Stene, paNOW online sales manager. “You’d think that after having been a part of these for nine years that the anticipation would dull but it gets more exciting each year. Having spoken with a few winners this year, the gratitude for having been recognized continues to be heartfelt and filled with excitement.”
Some of the winners for this year’s awards include Malcolm Jenkins, who was once again named Best Citizen, Elizabeth Chamberlain who was voted Best Actor, Genalyn Dioso for Best Chef, Kim Doetzel for Best High School Teacher, and River Rider Football for Best Sports Team.
“Congratulations to all the 2023 BOB Award recipients, well done!” added Stene.
