One of my biggest pet peeves is when people in the passenger seat put their feet on the dash. I used the word “people” but I have never seen a guy do it. It seems to be something the ladies like to do, and I have no idea why. I find the position to be very uncomfortable, as I tried it once just to get back at the driver, who always did it when in my car. I was unable to hold the position for more than a few seconds. Plus, it’s disgusting. I don’t want your stinky feet or dirty shoes on my dash.
Another thing that drives me crazy is passengers who hang their feet out the window. Unless your feet reek like a decomposing body, there’s no need to do that. And if they do reek that bad, you’ll probably have to find your own ride.
If you try to put your feet on my dash I’ll tell you no, and if do it anyway, the ride is over until your feet are on the floor
Lets talk about how unsafe both of those positions really are. Talk to anyone who’s been in an accident, if you are turned any other way other than in the sitting position, you are in for a world of hurt. That hurt can result in months of physio rehab, and perhaps has lifelong reprecussions… even at low speeds.
At speeds enough to set off the airbag, you’re risking even more serious injury, and possibly even death. Airbags deploy at up to 350km/h and if your feet are on the dash it can break your legs, hip, ankles and more. It can even drive your knees back into your eye sockets and kill you.
So please get your feet back on the floor where they belong, and have safe travels this summer
